As a licensee, I was responsible for the overall project management of TEDxBeirut events and leadership of the TEDxBeirut events team. My responsibilities included:
- Organizing yearly TEDxBeirut conferences with live speakers and an audience of 700 attendees in 2011 and 1200 in 2012 (Budget of $35 to $45K per event)
- Organizing 6 TEDxBeirut salons for an audience of 200 to 400 attendees per salon
- Forming and leading a team of up to 50 volunteers and providing strategic direction for them
- Team building, mentoring, team development
- Negotiating and liaising with event partners, suppliers and vendors on matters of sponsorship, venue provision, event vision and style
- Managing and handling TEDxBeirut’s budget
- Identifying and selecting local and (some) international speakers
- Building TED and TEDx community in Lebanon
