In response to its new fundraising strategy, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Lebanon (Francophonie University Association) organized a special workshop entitled “Fundraising Principles and Techniques” in collaboration with the Lebanese Development Network (LDN).

Directors, Program Managers and Senior Staff Members attended the meeting intended to foster greater interest in the field, familiarize the participants with the concept of diversification of resources and raise awareness of the potential challenges and opportunities ahead.

President of LDN Amin Nehme inaugurated the seminar by highlighting the core topics that permeated throughout the day such as: Fundraising Myths & Misconceptions, Individual and Corporate Giving and The Key Principles and Practices.

Discussions revolved as well around how to ensure large-scale and sustainable returns that deliver significant assistance to both the Agency and the beneficiaries.

AUF Regional Director Dr. Hervé Sabourin concluded the sessions with a quick interactive assessment and addressed the participants afterwards with a general round up about the progress made to date and the following steps needed to be taken.

The workshop provided an extensive overview of the various fundraising models, the practical examples and the hands-on techniques to be followed in order to help the staff work together effectively to solicit considerable financial support.
