‘How to write your CV and prepare for an interview’

Outline

Writing a CV is easy but writing a good CV isn't.
This interactive workshop focuses on the principles of creating an impressive resume and a good cover letter. It examines as well the job interviewing techniques and the common practices for clarity, brevity, precision, and effectiveness in business communication.
Participants are expected during the workshop to tailor a CV related to their area of specialty and to learn about how to prepare and promote themselves for the job at interview.  

Learning Objectives
- Identify and develop the essential parts of a resume, and a cover letter
- Conduct and successfully participate in job interviews

Target Audience
The intended audience includes fresh graduates and senior students. Other professionals who need to develop business communication skills are also encouraged to attend.

Program:

9:00am - 9:30am: Registration

9:30am – 10:30am Session 1 – Writing an effective CV
• Compiling information
• Understanding the format and structure
• Designing the CV

10:30am-10:45am: Break 1

10:45am - 11:45am Session 2 – Writing an effective cover letter
• Understanding the purpose
• The writing phase
• Proofreading

11:45am - 12pm: Break 2

12pm – 1:00pm Session 3 – Participating in a job interview Simulation
• Instilling confidence & Reducing Anxiety
• Body Language & Mannerisms
• Listening and Answering

Trainer’s Biography
Dr. Maha Mouchantaf is an assistant professor at Notre Dame University, Louaize. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Management from Université de Corse - France, an M.A. in Educational Management form Lebanese American University and a B.A. in Communication Arts, Journalism and Radio/T.V. production from the same university.
Her main research has focused on exploring gender differences, cultural diversity, and leadership styles in administration. She has a rich experience in school management and her research interests continue to center on issues related to “Shaping better Leaders” as well as on “Bridging the gaps in the Lebanese Educational System.”
She has conducted several trainings and workshops on Leadership and management and has several publications on Female Leadership in Lebanon and on the issues pertaining to gender differences in school administration.
