Interactive Workshop

“Fundraising Strategy in a Downturn Economy”

Introduction
In times of recession, fundraisers and charitable organizations become in general more timid in asking for donations. Hence, such organizations figure that a tentative and apologetic approach to donors demonstrates sympathy for their plight as the best strategy used to ensure they're not scared-off by a big "ask".

But refraining from asking is a clear misconception when asking for contributions provides donors with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people they support, which is exactly what they want to do.

This is why applying some specific measures regardless of the economic circumstances such as coping with the impact of the collapsing economy, revamping the fundraising plan and dialing down the expectations could be the best remedy.
