On October 7th and 8th 2021, the Blue Planet Economy (BPE) Maritime Forum was held in Rome with the participation of a group of prominent institutional stakeholders, players from the industry, professional associations, innovative SMEs, investors and research institutes.

The focus of the Forum is on the protection and sustainable development of the maritime resources of the planet, especially in the Mediterranean area. It is intended to promote the scientific exchange on topics related to the maritime economy.

BPE is an all-digital event of international format, focusing on the wider theme of Blue Economy and of its capability to promote and create new market opportunities and economic development in Italy, in the Mediterranean Area, also reflecting on the greater global maritime economy that – all together – aims at winning a real blue perspective for the whole planet.

The event was organized by Fiera Roma and MAR – Marine Activities and Research Association, in collaboration with international sustainability organization HABITAT WORLD and BIENNALE HABITAT, under the auspices of Regione Lazio, Unioncamere Lazio and Roma Chamber of Commerce.

It aims at creating a unique opportunity to promote business along with the exchange of views on maritime economy development among existing and new industrial and institutional players: trade associations, small and medium sized innovative companies, investors, research centers and institutions, all involved in the future of Blue Economy.
