The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cyprus in cooperation with Cedars Pavilion organized the “Invest in Cyprus 2018” Forum & Exhibition at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Larnaca.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Lebanese Ambassador to Cyprus Claude Al-Hajal, Vice-President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce Othonas Teodoulou, Executive Director of Cedars Pavilion Dr. George Mufarrij, Executive Director of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce George Psaras, Chairman of the Lebanese Cypriot Business Council Anthony Haji Roussos, Chairman of Astro Bank Dr. Chadi Karam, leaders of economic and social organizations, representatives of Lebanese and Cypriot companies and institutions, and a number of investors and businessmen from both countries.

The speeches stressed the importance of this event on both economic and financial levels and its positive impact on increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, especially in light of the facilities offered by the Cypriot authorities.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, a special meeting was held with the banking expert and Head of the "Lebanese Businessmen Association - RDCL" Fouad Rahme who discussed the "Investment Opportunities in Cyprus" and the “Cyprus Experience in Overcoming the Economic Crisis: A Role Model.”

In his speech, Mufarrij spoke about the activities to be carried out later on between the Cedars Pavilion and the Chamber of Commerce of Cyprus. The seminar included interventions of a number of local experts in the financial and legal fields who explained the terms of investment at the local level, as well as the many benefits acquired vis-à-vis the access to the European markets.

The Director of Credit Libanais Bank in Cyprus Hayat Harfoush explained about the various aspects of the services provided by the bank in a wide range of fields.

In turn, the international partner at Cedar Oasis Amal Jaklis spoke about the evolutionary growth of the real estate industry in the country and the importance Cyprus plays as a gateway to Europe.

To point out that this exhibition represents an exceptional opportunity for the economic interaction between the two countries. It enhances as well the process of meeting the needs of local markets and activates the development factors at different levels.
