Under the auspices of the Mayor of Larnaca Andeas Viras, COMED – Cyprus Ltd. inaugurated the Science Junior Club at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

The event was attended by the CEO of COMED Dr. George Mufarrij, the Executive Director of the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce George Psaras, the president of the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) Amin Nehme, schools’ delegates and friends.

In his introduction, Mufarrij explained the objectives of this immersive and interactive project. “The Club is meant to provide an opportunity for kids to explore the immeasurable ways of how science can influence our understanding of all science and technology,” he said.

In turn, Viras expressed his appreciation to COMED for such initiative aiming at transferring knowledge and experience to young people.

The SJC constitutes a place for creativity, technology and learning. Branded as “edutainment”, it is a highly interactive centre packed with innovative games for children between 6 and 14 years old that fosters their interest in science and the world around them.

It covers as well a broad spectrum of disciplines from anatomy to astronomy, biology, botany, physics and chemistry where children have the opportunity to discover various models of renewable and solar energy applications.
