The region of Akkar in North Lebanon witnessed in September the ‘Launching of the Autumn Tourism Season,’ a project implemented by SALAR International of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions.

During the event, Ilda Nahas, the Founder and President of Rashet Kheir organization, presented the findings of the ‘Technical & Feasibility Study’ conducted under the Swedish-funded project Resilience in Local Government (RESLOG) on possible interventions to guide and support green economic growth in the region.

The two-day event constituted a good opportunity for local food specialties to be discovered where several hikes and tours to explore the beautiful nature of Akkar were organized. In addition, a meet up with the producers of the up-cycled products were arranged.

RESLOG aims to increase the possibilities of green livelihood opportunities in Akkar, and to highlight the potential of the area as a rural tourism destination.

The project was executed in cooperation with the municipalities and the union of municipalities in Akkar.
