More than 100 attendees participated in the EU-funded INTECMED Project Final Conference; an event organised by ASCAME – The Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce in Barcelona.

Three major pillars contributed to the success of the event through: 1) the caliber of the experts and the high-level discussions; 2) the field trips and the pre-set B2B meetings and; 3) the networking and cultural visits.

The project resulted of a series of outcomes such as the creation of cooperation links between 40 organisations from the four participating countries, mentoring 48 early-stage companies, awarding 240,000 euros in free-equity grants among the 12 winning start-ups, 98 events were held across the Mediterranean to promote the project, and a community of 3,500 followers on social networks was created.

INTECMED is a 3 year project with a budget of 3.6 Million Euro and partners from Greece, Spain, Egypt and Tunisia. It aims at developing an integrated innovation ecosystem at the local level to support technology transfer and commercialization of research results, to improve the linkages between the various innovation players, notably the science system and higher education, the government (especially at the local level), the private sector (mainly SMEs), and the citizens at large.
