The Sustainable MED Cities project creates and adapts three tools at 3 scales (building, neighbourhood and cities) to support municipalities to measure sustainability and create action plans according to their accorded compromises.
To adapt these tools to their needs and integrate them in their daily work, a pilot has been performed in each municipality: Municipality of Sousse (Tunisia), Municipality of Moukhtara (Lebanon) and Greater Irbid Municipality (Jordan). The tools tested have been the SBTool (Sustainable Building Tool) and the SNTool (Sustainable Neighbourhood Tool).
The test consists of measure the sustainability of the current state of each building/neighbourhood and, thanks to the “Assessment Tool Manager” platform, obtain a score. Then, the municipality has to set the target they want to achieve and develop different scenarios to achieve them. The platform gives a punctuation to each scenario for a comprehensive comparison and to help to select which is the best solution to take as action plan.
