In the framework of promoting dialogue, cooperation, coexistence and exchange of experiences between Arab and European youth, the Tunisian Ministry of Youth and Sports in partnership with Anna Lindh Foundation (Tunisia), We Love Sousse, and the Ali Belhaouane Cultural Center (CCAB) organized the Euro-Arab Youth Forum II in Monastir, Tunisia.

The Forum took place over four days with the participation of delegates from the EU, the Arab League, the organizing partners, in addition to representatives of more than 160 organizations from 20 European and Arab countries.

In her speech, Coordinator of the Forum Dr. Iman Hosseini said that “the forum will discuss the creation of a common space for communication to bring together a participatory vision in the field of youth media, highlighting its importance in supporting and enriching the media landscape, and highlighting the role of youth clubs in Tunisia.”

“This Forum creates an opportunity for the youth to express themselves and to follow up on public affairs in general and local affairs in particular,” she added.

Operations Assistant at the LDN Reine Fattouh attended the event which consisted of a series of workshops and seminars discussing “The Challenges of Freedom of Expression and Extremist Thought,” “Youth and the Arab Youth: Channels and Mechanisms of Action,” “The Youth Media Scene: Experiences and Laws,” and “Youth Media and Citizenship.”

The Forum was organized in reaction to the desires expressed by the Tunisian youth to release the strings tied around the local press whilst also turning to alternative journalism through social media platforms.
