Within the framework of the EU-funded MYSEA project, the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) held a technical workshop with the participation of representatives of the economic actors, and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

The main purpose of the workshop was to shed the light on the major aspects related to the project’s objectives in terms of agri-business and waste management.

The meeting aimed as well to explore the industries and the used technologies, acquire knowledge about the skills and the professional profiles requested, and seek to identify areas for aligning the education curricula with demand from one side, and to know more about the TVET institutions and education curricula, identify the skills’ orientation, and seek to determine the areas for aligning the education curricula with the market demand on the other side.

The sessions included several presentations conducted by the various experts and researchers who highlighted the potential existing in both sectors and the opportunities they can provide.

At the end of the meeting, agreements were signed with the parties involved to activate the traineeship process with the economic actors by offering on-the-job experience to target groups, and to organize special technical seminars for the employees working in the TVET institutions.
